Privacy Policy
Sigla is built to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains the little we do handle, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are
Sigla is made by Toni Väisänen, an independent sole trader based in Finland (“we”, “us”). Questions about this policy or your data: hello@sigla.so.
The short version
- The Sigla app collects no analytics, telemetry, or crash reports, and has no account system.
- Your purchase is handled by Paddle, our payment provider and Merchant of Record. We never see or store your card details.
- This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across sites.
- We don’t sell your data, run ad trackers, or send marketing email you didn’t ask for.
The Sigla app
The app runs locally on your Mac and does not phone home with usage data. Its only outbound network connections are:
- Update checks — on launch, Sigla asks our update server whether a newer version exists (a standard web request; your IP is visible to that server as with any download). You can turn updates off in Settings.
- License verification — when you activate a license, the app makes one request to Paddle to confirm it. After that, it works offline.
- Content you open — if a document references remote images, stylesheets, or fonts, your Mac fetches them from those servers, exactly as a browser would. That traffic goes to whoever hosts the resource, not to us.
Your license key and preferences are stored locally on your Mac. We don’t receive them.
Purchases and payments
Sigla is sold through Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle processes your payment, handles billing and sales tax/VAT, and is the data controller for your payment information — we never receive your full card details. To deliver your license and provide support, we receive limited order information from Paddle, typically your email address, the product purchased, and the country/tax region of the sale. Paddle’s handling of your data is governed by Paddle’s Privacy Policy.
This website
sigla.so is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes connection metadata (such as your IP address) to serve pages and protect against abuse. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic — it is cookieless, stores no personal identifiers, and does not track you across other sites. We set no advertising or tracking cookies.
If you email a sigla.so address, we keep your message and address so we can reply and, where relevant, keep a record of support history. We don’t add you to a mailing list.
Your rights (GDPR)
Because we’re based in the EU, the GDPR applies. You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. For payment data, contact Paddle (the controller); for anything we hold directly, such as support email, contact hello@sigla.so and we’ll respond within a reasonable time. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Finland, the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
Retention
We keep order records (from Paddle) and support correspondence only as long as needed to provide support, meet legal and accounting obligations, and resolve disputes. We don’t retain data we never collect.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above and post the new version here. Material changes will be noted on the page.
